Společně, o.p.s., Company ID No. 26976307, with its registered office at Mendlovo náměstí 907/1a, Staré Brno, 603 00 Brno (hereinafter the “Organiser”), hereby issues these General Terms and Conditions governing attendance at the Mendel Genetics Conference 2027 (hereinafter the “Conference”) and the sale of tickets to the Conference.

1.1. These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter the “Terms”) govern the content of contracts for the purchase of tickets to the Conference (hereinafter the “Contract”) and contracts for the purchase of goods (hereinafter the “Goods Purchase Contract”) concluded between the Organiser and the purchaser (hereinafter the “Purchaser”), as well as the conditions of attendance at the Conference, within the meaning of Section 1746(2) and Section 1751(1) of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, as amended (hereinafter the “Civil Code”).

1.2. The Mendel Genetics Conference 2027 will take place on 22–23 July 2027 in Brno, at Hotel International Brno, Husova 200/16, 602 00 Brno. The Organiser reserves the right to change the date, time, venue, duration and programme, including changes to speakers, the length, focus and type of presentations, and other features of the Conference. Changes concerning the Conference will be announced by publication on the Conference website at www.mendelconference.com (hereinafter the “Conference Website”).

1.3. Through the Conference Website, the Organiser invites Purchasers to submit an offer by completing and submitting an order form. Before submitting an order, the Purchaser may review its contents. The Contract is concluded when the Organiser confirms the order. Through the Conference Website, the Organiser does not make a public offer within the meaning of Section 1780 et seq. of the Civil Code, nor an offer within the meaning of Section 1732(2) of the Civil Code.

1.4. A ticket constitutes evidence of the conclusion of the Contract and entitles its holder to the rights specified in these Terms.

1.5. All communication between the contracting parties shall take place electronically. The Purchaser may contact the Organiser using the electronic contact details published on the Conference Website. The Organiser may send communications to the electronic contact details provided by the Purchaser when concluding the Contract. The Organiser may also communicate information to the Purchaser by publishing it on the Conference Website.

2.1. The prices of individual ticket categories, including the currency, are specified on the Conference Website, together with any discounts and other promotional offers and the conditions for their application. The Organiser reserves the right to change or terminate individual discounts and promotional offers. Such changes shall not affect tickets already purchased. The price displayed before the order is confirmed is the final price and includes all applicable taxes and fees under the laws of the Czech Republic.

2.2. Payment may be made exclusively by the methods indicated on the Conference Website. The Purchaser shall pay the purchase price in advance, before the Organiser provides the relevant performance.

2.3. Where the purchase price paid is to be refunded to the Purchaser, it shall be refunded using the same payment method as the original payment or, if this is not possible, by bank transfer to the Purchaser’s bank account. The Purchaser undertakes to provide the Organiser with all cooperation necessary to process the refund.

3.1. The Organiser offers various ticket categories for sale, differing primarily in the holder’s entitlement to attend different parts of the Conference. The individual ticket categories and the rights or restrictions associated with them are specified on the Conference Website or on linked third-party websites. The Organiser reserves the right to change the ticket categories and their characteristics.

3.2. The holder of a valid ticket (hereinafter the “Participant”) is entitled to attend the Conference and its accompanying programme on a one-time basis, to the extent permitted by the ticket category held. Admission to the Conference will be granted to the first Participant who presents the relevant ticket during registration.

3.3. Delivery of tickets. Purchased tickets will be delivered electronically to the email address provided by the Purchaser without undue delay after the Purchaser has paid the purchase price in full.

3.4. Cancellation policy. Ticket purchases cannot be cancelled, and the Purchaser is not entitled to a refund of the admission fee if they do not attend or are unable to attend the Conference.

4.1. Right of withdrawal. Either contracting party is entitled to withdraw from the Contract if the other contracting party breaches the Contract in such a material manner that the first party would never have concluded the Contract had it anticipated such a breach, or on other grounds specified in these Terms.

4.2. No consumer right of withdrawal from a ticket purchase. A Purchaser who is a consumer is not entitled to withdraw from a ticket purchase contract within fourteen days of its conclusion pursuant to Section 1829 et seq. of the Civil Code, as the Contract concerns leisure activities to be provided on a specified date within the meaning of Section 1837(j) of the Civil Code.

5.1. By concluding the Contract, the Purchaser agrees to the conditions of attendance at the Conference. By attending the Conference, the Participant expresses their agreement to the conditions of attendance.

5.2. Conference Rules. The rights and obligations of Participants and other persons attending the Conference are further governed by the Conference Rules (hereinafter the “Rules”), which the Participant undertakes to observe. The Rules will be published on the Conference Website.

5.3. Participant registration. Before entering the Conference, the Participant must register at the location designated by the Organiser. During registration, the Organiser will verify the ticket’s validity by scanning the QR code displayed on the ticket. Following successful verification, the Organiser will admit the Participant to the Conference.

5.4. The Participant must carry their ticket and, where applicable, any other visible identification issued by the Organiser throughout the Conference. Failure to present a valid ticket upon request constitutes a serious breach of the conditions of attendance, and the Organiser is entitled to remove the Participant from the Conference.

5.5. The Participant is not entitled to make any audiovisual recordings of the Conference, in particular recordings of individual presentations and discussions, nor to distribute, communicate to the public or otherwise provide any such recordings to third parties in any form, including digital form, unless they have obtained the Organiser’s consent or are entitled to do so under a statutory licence.

5.6. The Participant must behave in a manner that does not disrupt the peaceful conduct of the Conference, in particular by refraining from disturbing other participants and speakers through loud conversations or telephone calls, and by treating other participants and persons with consideration. During an organised lecture or similar programme contribution, the Participant may speak only when invited to do so. The Participant must respect and comply with all instructions of the Organiser and persons authorised by the Organiser.

5.7. The Participant hereby expressly agrees that the Organiser or persons authorised by the Organiser may make audiovisual recordings of the Conference, including documentary and illustrative photographs in which the Participant’s likeness may appear.

5.8. If the Participant breaches the conditions of attendance, including the Rules, or the instructions of the Organiser or persons authorised by the Organiser in any way, the Organiser may invalidate the Participant’s ticket, prevent further attendance and remove the Participant from the Conference. If the Participant subsequently expresses disagreement with the conditions of attendance, they must leave the Conference immediately. In such a case, the Organiser may remove the Participant and deny further admission. In the cases specified in this clause, the Organiser is not obliged to refund the ticket price paid to the Purchaser or compensate the Purchaser or Participant for any damage.

6.1. The Organiser has the right to cancel the Conference. In such a case, the Organiser shall inform the Purchaser of the cancellation. The Purchaser is entitled either to a refund of the ticket purchase price paid or to transfer the validity of the purchased ticket to the next edition of the Conference. The Purchaser must notify the Organiser of their choice within 30 days of the announcement of cancellation or within another period specified by the Organiser. If the Purchaser does not respond within the period specified in this clause, the validity of the purchased ticket will be transferred to the next edition of the Conference, where possible.

6.2. The Organiser reserves the right to change the date or venue of the Conference. In such a case, the Organiser shall inform the Purchaser of the change. The Purchaser is entitled to withdraw from the Contract within fourteen days of receiving information about the change of date or venue. In the event of circumstances preventing the event from taking place in person (for example, illness, an epidemic or other force majeure), we may hold the event online. In such a case, the price and the conditions of attendance and cooperation remain unchanged. This change is not considered a change of venue. The Organiser reserves the right to modify the Conference programme, including its duration, the structure, duration and focus of individual presentations, the persons appearing, and other characteristics of the Conference. Such changes do not constitute a material change to the characteristics of the Conference, do not give rise to the Purchaser’s right to withdraw from the Contract and do not constitute defective performance.

7.1. The Organiser reserves the right to amend or supplement these Terms at any time. Purchasers and Participants will be informed of changes to these Terms through the Conference Website.

7.2. The revised Terms shall take effect upon their publication on the Conference Website. Unless otherwise provided in the Terms, rights and obligations arising while a previous version was in effect shall remain unaffected.

8.1. These Terms form an integral part of the Contract and the Goods Purchase Contract concluded between the Organiser and the Purchaser.

8.2. The Contract and all related rights and obligations of the Organiser and the Purchaser or Participant shall be governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. If any of these legal relationships contains an international element, the Organiser, Purchaser and Participant expressly agree that it shall be governed by Czech law.

8.3. The Organiser and the Purchaser declare that they will seek to resolve disputes arising from or in connection with the Contract or the Goods Purchase Contract, or in connection with attendance at the Conference, primarily by amicable means, in particular through negotiations between the contracting parties. For this purpose, the Purchaser shall first contact the Organiser using the electronic contact details specified on the Conference Website. Only if an amicable resolution cannot reasonably be expected do the contracting parties agree that the dispute shall be finally resolved before the ordinary court having jurisdiction over the Organiser, in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic.

8.4. If any provision of these Terms becomes invalid, ineffective or unenforceable, the validity, effectiveness and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be affected.

8.5. These Terms are valid and effective from the moment of their publication on the Conference Website.
